Goals and Resolutions

In no particular order...

1. Write more. 2007 I had almost 200 posts, last year a mere 70-something. Although I did manage to bust out the beginnings of a novel in November, I miss writing here. So this year, I'm aiming for at least once a week and preferably 100+ posts. That should be a good combo of writing more posts and more frequently.

2. Edit above mentioned novel. That is actually going to be my January Resolution. I've sat on it long enough, it's time to go back and have look-see at what I did.

3. Try to make daily mass more often. I got spoiled in Maine going on Friday's with the school kids...it was too easy. It's been a year since we've left and I miss that chance to go without the hoopla of a Sunday.

4. Exercise. Not just because I ate 10 pounds of buckeye balls this Christmas, but because my boys need me to be healthy enough to keep up with them outside. So far, I've been to the gym three times since the 1st of the year, that's three times more than I went in December.

5. Grow up. Really. I mean, I need to keep my goofiness and the child-like wonder and all that. But its about time I started hanging my clothes up in the closet and picked out my clothes to wear the night before. My clothes situation is much closer to a whiny 10 year old's then a grown woman. It shouldn't be that hard to put clothes in the closet when they come out of the dryer. Right? Right???

6. Establish a better routine around the house. Michelle was speaking of this just the other day and it's true. I fuss an awful lot at the boys for leaving their stuff out and not having any order to their toys, their rooms, their days---and then I come into my office where I have a million projects open and out and piles of mail precariously placed on any flat space. Flylady, would be ashamed. I'm ready to try and teach through example.

7. Love on my boys, my husband. I can be wickedly selfish sometimes and I need to remember how blessed my life is...I need to remember to hug everyone more and smile and to exude calm around the house.

Lofty goals, no doubt. But I tell them to y'all so you can keep me honest and see how I'm doing. I know, they aren't original in the least, but they are what I need to focus on now, and that's good enough for me.
