Crop Failure

Awww man!

My pumkin patch is apparently infested with powdery mildew.

I first noticed the powdery like substance a week ago or so, but I tried to ignore it rather than deal with it. After seeing quite a few yellow leaves this morning, I finally gave in and googled pumpkin disease, only to be confronted with exact pictures of my sickly little leaves.

It sounds like the infestation is too far gone to try to treat it, so all I can do now is hope for the best. If the disease doesn't progress too fast, my pumpkins may have a chance of turning orange before the leaves rot off and die. If not, I'll lose the crop. Bummer. I'm just hoping it stays away from my zucchini and tomatoes. Maybe I'll have to visit the garden store this week to see about prevention.

Darn it.

Of course with so many giant worldly woes....hurricanes, mining accidents, floods, I suppose my pumpkin failure is pretty small potatoes.
