An official first week of summer

It is official---we're in summertime. Even here in Maine. Sparky finished kindegarten last week and celebrated along with the rest of the school in a lovely end-of-year Mass. I'm looking forward to having both Sparky and Catfish in the same school next year. I think they will have a great time "at the big school" together. Plus, I just love their school. I had some concerns about a few things from *this year* but I'm confident that they will be addressed. Plus I can't complain, Sparky loves to learn, is reading like a champ and continues to be eager and excited about schoolwork. So now we close the first year of school and look forward to an exciting summer.

We've already made plans for Daffy Camp, but haven't begun the actual events yet. We'll kick off by tye-dying T-shirts and then from there we'll put together our grab bag of summer camp ideas. I've picked up some fantastic art supplies and pulled together a few plans from last year, so I think it should be a good time. Between days at the lake, the beach, art projects and sports, I think we're looking at a pretty full summer! Grandma, Aunt Gina, and Nana and Grandpa are also all going to be visiting in July. Woohoo!!

So the last plan is to decide if we're going to make a giant summer road trip. You may recall last year I drove from Maine to North Carolina with the boys. Apparently I'm crazy enough to contemplate doing it again. Only instead of the Carolinas, I'm thinking about Florida. Yeah. Florida. In August. I have a host of great reasons to go...I just have to think a bit more about the drive and the weather in Florida. In August. Ugh. I'll keep you posted.

We're off to Boston today for a birthday party....One of these days I really want to take the boys to the city via the train, but for today, we'll just make the drive. Happy Friday to you all!
