For as much as I rant about the weather in Maine, days like today make me forget all about my previous complaints. Low 70's with blue skies and sun, sun and more sun.
We set out as a family for a Sunday drive and found ourselves in the midst of an impromptu beach trip. Thankfully I had a few provisions in the car (namely a towel and the boys' bathing suits). My hubby and I didn't have our suits and we didn't have the normal beach supplies---digging items, a cooler, more than one towel---but we made do just fine. Everyone fell asleep on the drive home, we picked up some amazing BBQ for dinner and by bath time the whole family was tuckered out and sun-kissed.
Nice.
Back to reality tomorrow--housework and last week of school busy-ness, but today was a nice reminder of what a weekend should be like.
