Today's been one of those busy, busy days.
Here's a quick rundown:
Get all three boys up and dressed and out the door to school. Drop off Sparky, return home to change a very stinky Tres, pick up Catfish's friend for carpool. Drop off Catfish and friend. Go to My-Gym class with Tres. Come home from My-Gym watch my other friend's daughter while she goes to the OB for a repeat ultrasound. Stress while she is away because there is concern over the baby's growth rate. Catfish and friends (plus their Mom) come home. Visit and watch while five kids run amok in the snow. First friend returns...Good News from the Ultrasound. Baby is fine and God is Good! Pack up second set of friends and say goodbye. Load my two boys into the car, pick up Sparky from school and meet friends flying in from Florida for a late lunch/early dinner. Chase three boys around restaurant while trying to catch up with old college friends (who, by the way, are kid free on a ski vacation!). Say Goodbye to college friends. Load kids back in car. Run a few errands. Stop for ice cream. Call friend having surgery today to check on her and see if she needs anything just yet. Meet another friend back at our house to work on a gift scrapbook. Furiously try to figure out names of people in scrapbook. Realize its 6 pm and that I haven't cooked dinner. Remember that this is ok, because we ate tons of pizza at the late lunch. Throw together grilled cheese and strawberries. Hurry boys up to shower. Clean, wash, brush, jammies. Hugs, kisses, prayers, cuddles. Bed. Remember I have to bake a treat for MOPS tomorrow. Bake. Sit down and blog for a minute. Which brings me to 8:30 p.m. I am SOOOO going to bed by 9.
I know this was long and crazy. If you just skipped to then end and didn't read it all, that's ok, I understand. Really I do. But if you did read it, I want you to know I wasn't complaining. Honestly. Its been busy and my house is trashed, but I was blessed to be among so many different friends today. To have other moms to talk with and to share with. To be able to pray together about babies and ultrasounds and surgeries. To connect with friends from far away. Really, what a blessing it all was. I'm exhausted, but I'm so very thankful.
All that being said, just because I'm thankful, doesn't mean tomorrow has to be as busy.
