The daily grind

Not too much going on in the household today. I took the boys for haircuts ( I really need to learn to do this myself...it costs a fortune), and then we went to My Gym for some freeplay time. Roomba took a lovely long nap and Sparky, Catfish and I played a rousing game of Toy Story Memory. I don't know if they have young, nimble minds, or I'm just older and slower (I like to thing BUSIER), but I lost at Memory every time. Sheesh.

I had really, really wanted to get to the Y to go swimming, but it was not to be. I did manage to get to the post office to mail off two Christmas gifts that won't be there by Saturday, but should make for a lovely gift to open on December 27th or 28th.

And with that being said, I 'm officially Christmas ready. Really, I am. For the first time ever I'm ready for Christmas early....decorations are up, cookies are baked, presents are wrapped. We're planning to spend the weekend just hanging out and enjoying each other's company.

At least that's my plan.

Ok, so I'm already lying a tiny little bit. I'm not 100% ready. I'm not ready for my houseguests to arrive Christmas evening. I really need to dust and vacuum and clean out the bathrooms. And I need to step away from the computer tonight and go finish the dinner dishes.

So I guess that's it. Normal, everyday stuff, and that's good. Because I have a strong feeling that the next few days and weeks are going to involve lots of ab-normal activities. So I'll take these quiet, normal days when I can.
