cool mom stuff

When I got home from Church Sparky and Catfish were arguing about who got to wear the Batman cape, so I offered to make another one for them.
"Do you have black cloth?" Sparky asked.
"Mmm, no." I answered, feeling a bit dejected that my inital offer to make something wasn't met with sheer glee.
"How about red?" he asks.
"Yeah, I have red" I answer him. I am now secretly thrilled with myself for saving a piece of red felt from his first Halloween costume 4 years ago.

So I head to the basement where the Halloween bin is actually easily accesible, pull out the felt and a roll of double sided tape. I took the store bought Batman cape, use it as a pattern and carefully cut out two Superman worthy capes.

I am soooo not the crafty, sewing things mom, so right about now, I'm feeling a mix of pride, joy and just giddiness at watching my boys run around the house in their new felt capes.

Moments like this are good to have close to your heart.
